What Is ABA?

Applied behavior analysis (ABA) is an evidence-based therapy that focuses on improving socially meaningful behaviors through positive reinforcement. ABA uses a variety of strategies to understand behavior and promote meaningful, lasting change.

ABA is a highly flexible and individualized approach that:

  • Can be tailored to meet the unique needs of each individual.
  • Is provided in a variety of settings, including home, school, and community environments.
  • Teaches practical skills that support everyday living, communication, and social interaction.
  • May include one-to-one instruction or small group learning.
  • ABA therapy is designed to help individuals build independence, confidence, and skills that improve overall quality of life.

Behavior Assessments

Prime Behavioral Solutions offers comprehensive behavior assessments designed to better understand each individual’s strengths, needs, and challenges. Our assessments help identify behavior patterns, skill levels, and environmental factors that may impact daily functioning.

Using evidence-based tools and clinical expertise, our team develops individualized recommendations and treatment plans to guide effective, meaningful intervention and support long-term success at home, school, and in the community.

Social Skills Training

Our social skills training programs are designed to help children develop the skills needed to build meaningful relationships and successfully interact with others across home, school, and community settings. Using evidence-based ABA strategies, we teach age-appropriate social behaviors in a supportive and engaging way.

Instruction is individualized and may be provided one-on-one or in small groups, depending on the child’s needs and goals. Skills are practiced in natural environments to promote generalization and confidence in real-life situations.

Caregiver Training

We provide comprehensive training and ongoing support to parents, caregivers, and family members who interact with the client, empowering them to confidently support their loved ones beyond therapy sessions. Family involvement is a vital part of the treatment process and plays a key role in achieving meaningful, lasting progress.

Through our parent training and caregiver support programs, families learn effective strategies to reduce challenging behaviors and strengthen positive, appropriate behaviors in everyday settings—helping skills generalize and thrive long after sessions end.

Behavior Education and Training

Prime Behavioral Solutions offers educational training for community members who are interested in learning more about behavior modification. These trainings provide a clear understanding of behavior principles, practical strategies, and real-world applications to support positive behavior change.

Our goal is to empower individuals with knowledge and tools they can use confidently across home, school, and community settings.

Positive Behavior Support

Positive behavior support (PBS) is a collection of research-based strategies—such as positive reinforcement, praise, proximity, and scheduled breaks—designed to improve quality of life while reducing challenging behaviors. PBS focuses on teaching new skills and making meaningful adjustments to a person’s environment to support long-term success.

Natural Environment Teaching

Natural environment teaching (NET) is one of the most widely used strategies in applied behavior analysis. This approach is guided by the individual’s motivation and interests and takes place in settings that closely resemble real-life environments, allowing skills to be learned naturally and generalized across daily routines.

Discrete Trial Training

Discrete trial training (DTT) is a structured, step-by-step teaching method used to build skills essential for daily living. This highly focused intervention targets specific goals and teaches them in a clear and efficient way, helping individuals develop foundational skills that support independence and lifelong learning.

The Early Start Denver Model (ESDM)

The Early Start Denver Model (ESDM) is an evidence-based early intervention approach designed for young children with autism and other developmental delays, typically between 12 months and 5 years of age. ESDM integrates principles of applied behavior analysis (ABA) with developmental and relationship-based strategies to support learning in a natural, play-based environment.

Pivotal Response Training (PRT)

Pivotal Response Training (PRT) is an evidence-based, play-based intervention rooted in the principles of applied behavior analysis (ABA). PRT focuses on improving key “pivotal” areas of development that lead to widespread improvements across many other skills.

PRT is highly child-centered and takes place in natural environments, such as the home, school, or community. Therapy is guided by the child’s interests and choices, making learning meaningful, motivating, and enjoyable.

Incidental Teaching

Incidental teaching is a naturalistic, evidence-based teaching approach rooted in applied behavior analysis (ABA). It takes advantage of everyday moments and the child’s natural interests to create meaningful learning opportunities throughout the day.

Rather than relying on structured lessons alone, incidental teaching occurs during play, routines, and daily activities. The child initiates the interaction by showing interest in an item or activity, and the therapist or caregiver uses that moment to teach communication, social, or functional skills in a natural and motivating way.

With us, you are not just receiving ABA services, but gaining a better quality of life, essential life skills, greater independence, and compassionate support every step of the way.
